Connie wants to ask Akane out on a date. To wind down. But shit, there's no way- too forward- what was she supposed to-

"Anyway," Akane says, with a brisk cheerfulness. "Didn't your uncle say something about taking us to dinner?"

Connie's stomach rumbles. She may have also forgone meals.

"...I think he did, yeah," she says, chuckling sheepishly as she gets up. "I could REALLY use some food at any rate."

"Connie," Akane scolds, holding out a hand to help. "If you skipped lunch and didn't sleep enough, no wonder you lost. Those are baby mistakes."

"I know, I know," Connie whines, but... she's smiling. "Tio Steven is covering the bill, which is good because I could honestly eat a horse."

"I don't think they serve horsemeat here," Akane says, in that way where it's hard to tell if it's a joke or if she's serious. "But then we probably shouldn't keep him waiting."

It's nice that Connie's adopted uncle is willing to do things like that. Akane's wouldn't have. Uncle Saotome did just about everything he could to make sure someone else would pay his bills for him.
